More garage rearranging and cleaning...
This ice chest "lives" on a shelf above the air compressor area.
It was empty so I placed some model kits inside.
Since the kits are light but take up quite a bit of space, it's ideal for storing in the ice chest on a shelf (not too much added weight).
The stuff sitting on this flat file need to find better homes.
They're here for now temporarily...
Cleared the rear counter tops, again...
The corner metal cabinet storage rearranged a little bit since the model kits that went into the ice chest came from here.
There's a little bit more space to put some other stuff in this area now. Need to find the right sized items to put here...
The small wall space behind the "chop saw"...

Dining table bench - part 5 -- Cutting the ends of the board...
Setup the table saw with the cross-cutting "sled" that I made a long time ago...
The board wants to tip up so I used the old starter from the MGB to weigh down the board.
The starter is very heavy and worked perfectly for this job!
After cutting both ends.
I thought about leaving the ends "not square" to give it more character but this bench will be used at a dining table so may be placed next to other "normal" chairs.
Having a straight end would work better next to other chairs...
I cut the piece slowly and the blade "burned" the wood as I went.
Will have to sand the ends down to get rid of the burn marks...
Light bulbs... etc...
Things seem to happen in bunches...
The sealed shower light bulb went out (replaced).
There's a gasket around the lens assembly (see picture below) that keeps moisture from the shower out (works very well).
Also,
One of the kitchen recessed light bulbs went out (replaced).
Kitchen drawer guide broke (fixed).
Kitchen faucet started dripping (fixed).
Used Dura Ace "jockey" wheels...
I have these used Dura Ace pulleys that I'm thinking of installing on the Cannondale.
They're a little bit worn and pretty dirty but look to be in better shape than the ones on the bike right now...
One of the jockey wheels has a washer type of bushing.
The center race on this pulley moves some but does not come out.

Dining table bench - part 4 -- Making the Butterfly
I had this piece of purple hardwood.
It's just about right for the butterfly.
Will cut it to about 3 inches long.
Also scribed a line on the end that the butterfly will go.
Will trim the board to the line on the table saw...
This line gives me an idea of where the board will end so as to gauge how large the butterfly should be and where it might go.
Using the chop saw to cut the butterfly piece to size.
I attached the shop vacuum directly to the saw to minimize the amount of sawdust...
The shop vac (Fein brand) sits about 6 feet away from the chop saw.
The hose is long enough to reach.
First, I need to make a clean end cut...
Then, cut to length.
The wood is very hard so had to go slow with the saw...
Laying out the butterfly shape on the piece...
The butterfly piece is about 1/3 the thickness of the bench, which should be about right...
