| I arrived at the "hang glider spot" just as they took off from the top. I just missed them in the picture. I thought they might catch the wind and come up but they never did. I think it was too little wind. On most days, there's enough wind to take them up... On some days, it's too windy and would be dangerous to try it... |

Spare wheels for gravel tires
I was looking to fit some gravel tires on some spare wheels for S's bike (I have 4 or five sets of spare road wheels). Unfortunately, I don't have any with an 8-speed cassette (Shimano), which is what's on her bike.
She took gravel the tires with her bike so that they can be swapped in, if she really wants to.
The smooth tires currently on her bike are 32 mm wide. The WTB gravel tires are 37 mm. Tire clearance looked OK to go up to 37...

Manhattan Beach Pier -- August 18, 2020 (Tuesday) -- Hot with No Wind
It's another hot day. Nearly 90 F at the house and nearly 80 F at the beach. Unusual for it to be that warm at the beach...
There's a flag near the middle of this picture.
It's very rare for it to not be "flying."
There's almost no wind at the pier... very strange...
Most of Palos Verdes is socked-in. Just the top of the hill is visible.

Manhattan Beach Pier -- August 17, 2020 (Monday) -- Overcast and cool at the beach
The weekend was very hot (over 90 F at home).
Today, it's about 80 F at home but at the beach it was nice and cool (about 70 F).
