Teledyne Titan -- Brake Pad Adjustment

Both the front and rear brake pads are positioned incorrectly for this bike.  This is the right rear pad...

Newly acquired HKS road bike detail pictures -- part 1

I need something like this cable guide that goes on the bottom of the bottom bracket for the Teledyne Titan...

Rear wheel rim

Front wheel rim

Pedals...

Dura Ace groupset on the bike.  Crank Arms...

Even the crank arm bolt caps are Dura Ace.  Nice!

I'm not familiar with this "JB" logo...

Shimano bottom bracket bearing

Dura Ace wheel skewers... (note that the rear drop outs are Campagnolo...)

Dura Ace rear brake, including the brake pads!

Dura Ace rear wheel hub

Seat Post for the Trek 8700

The bottom aluminum one is what came on the bike.  I had a spare used carbon fiber seat post.  If it fits, I'll put this on the Trek...

This is the seat post clamp that came on the bike.  Took it apart and cleaned the parts (forgot to take a picture before cleaning...).

There's a portion of the clamp where the aluminum is damaged and has a large raised burr (hard to see but it's just below the 3.18 stamping...).

Used a file to clean up the burr.  Now it's nice an smooth.

Ready to go back on the bike.

The interface where the seat post clamp goes is somewhat scratched up and dirty.

After cleaning (with a scotchbrite pad).

Had to spread the gap open (with a large screwdriver) so that the seat post will install easily.

First reinstalled the seatpost clamp.

Installed the seat post & tightened the clamp.

The carbon seatpost is made by Specialized.

Just bought this seat the Long Beach Motorcycle Swap Meet a couple of days ago.  Installed it on the bike (leveled it also).  It looks good.

Installed Brake Cables & Housing for Teledyne Titan

Cut the brake cable housing to length.  Sanded the end smooth.

Rear brake cable routing around the headtube.

Used the two cable clamps to hold the rear brake cable in place.

Adjusted the cable so that the brakes have just enough clearance.  The closer the clearance, the less "play" in the brake lever, before the brakes apply.  Need to cut the cables to length and add the cable cap.

Cut the cable to length (about 1.5 inches past the clamp).

Crimp on the cable end cap (using pliers).  Front is done.

Did the same for the rear brake cable.  Done.
