Saturday, August 24 - Replacing one of the heel pads on the Giro Bicycling Shoes

Cleaned the shoes before doing the repair.
Forgot to take a picture before.
They were very dirty...
The right shoe has the very worn heel pad.
The fastening screw's head is plugged with debris and worn.
The left shoe heel pad isn't too bad.  Will not replace just yet.
Used some sharp tools to pick out and clean the head of the screw.
The screw would not come out.
The nut insert on the inside was spinning.
The left nut insert is the one spinning.
Had to use a pair of strong pliers to hold the nutsert, while turning the screw.
The nut insert doesn't have material to bike into.
Had to use some pliers to hold it still while installing the new heel pad.
Installation complete.
