Schwinn Superior -- Replaced the Black vinyl seat with a recently acquired white leather seat -- Interesting Campagnolo Seat Post

This Campagnolo Seat Post has a very unusual design for mounting the seat to the post.  There are two bolts on the top of the post, where it's quite difficult to access and turn the bolts.  The two bolts hold down the upper half of the seat rail clamps.  They are completely independent of each other.  The bolts go into a nut that is circular in side view.  Thus, the nuts are able to rotate in the bores that they sit in.  There's a slot in the seat post casting that the clamp bolts go through so that the upper seat rail clamps can rotate in side view.

The lower clamp for the seat rail is independent, side to side.  They each rotate on a shaft and is free.  Only the bolts that hold down the upper clamps keep the lower clamps in place when it's all tightened down.

It turns out that the front bolt can be adjusted by hand to the seat angle that you want.  Once you establish the desired seat angle by adjusting how far down the front bolt goes, then the rear bolt can be tightened down to clamp everything down.  The whole system is quite ingenious.  Also, all the components and casting are beautifully shaped an made.  Even the bolts are very high quality.

Everything has been tightened down.  The seat post was also lowered close to the right height for me.  I think I got the seat angle a little bit off.  It's not as flat as it should be.  The front is a little high.  It's easy enough to adjust, now that I know how it's supposed to work...
