Vintage Snap-on Tool Chest -- Cleaning & Repair -- Part 1

In the process of cleaning.  Just getting the surface dirt and rust off.  Will keep the "patina'd" look.

After cleaning in the sink, using some chemical cleaner/protectant.

Cleaned the tray that goes inside the top of the box.

Done with the exterior cleaning.

The interior needs cleaning.

Will clean but keep the patina (will not paint).

The bottom of the box where the lid's locking mechanism catches is bent.  Will have to fix it...

Took the drawers out to clean the inside.  The drawer slides need some repair also (one side of the top drawer doesn't stop and the bottom drawer doesn't stop at all & just pulls out...)

Very dirty inside...

The finish on the back of the box is probably the original finish that the whole box had initially.  It appears to be a blue/gray hammer type of finish...

Aircraft Toggle Switch Covers (2 older used ones and three NOS ones)

These would look and work well on some sort of a custom dash or switch assembly...
