Friday, April 14, 2023 -- Long Beach Grand Prix -- part 1

Parked in the neighborhood about 1/4 mile from the entrance.

Just as you enter through the main gates.

The new Integra Type S (basically the same car as the Civic Type R).
The car was not locked so you could sit in it.
Tried out the seat.  Not very sporty.
The Civic type R has "sport" seats that are pretty snug.
The Acura seems to have "normal" seats.  It probably accommodates more variation in people's sizes but is not very special.
Also, the seats are two tone (in this case red and black).
Don't care for the two tone colors or pattern.
The Civic Type R has solid red seat that look nice and feel good (snug but not too restrictive).

The shifter would have been better if it was located on the left side of the center console, closer to the driver (for LHD).
Ergonomically, the shifter is too far away from the driver.
Unfortunate.
It could have been so much better if the shifter was closer to the driver.

The Type S engine.
2.0L turbo I4 putting out a little over 300 hp.
A lot of power from a small package.

Acura had mocked up a shop/garage scene.
Pretty hokey...  Not impressed.

Wagon & time trial mud

Liked these when they were new.
Never drove one but remember reading that they were painfully slow.

Muddy!

Weight for traction

Lots of weight on the back
